Created in 1992, Safe Kids Northeast Georgia is one of over 30 coalitions in Georgia. Northeast Georgia Medical Center serves as the lead agency for Safe Kids Northeast Georgia, and the program is funded through the Annual Marketplace fundraising event presented in partnership by Northeast Georgia Health System Auxiliary and Willis Investment Counsel, and through donations to the Northeast Georgia Health System Foundation. Safe Kids Northeast Georgia tracks childhood injury rates through data provided by Northeast Georgia Medical Center’s Emergency Departments. Using this data, coalition members are able to determine where to best focus resources.
