KEYNOTE SPEAKER: DR. NELSON ROYALL
Program Director - General Surgery Residency Program
Northeast Georgia Medical Center


Dr. Royall is a Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary surgeon within the Department of Surgery at Northeast Georgia Health System. He obtained his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, Ohio. He completed a General Surgery residency at Orlando Health in Orlando, FL and a Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, OH.
He is focused on the development and education of minimally invasive techniques, including advanced endoscopy, focused ultrasonography, and histotripsy. He has helped to lead the development of one of the first histotripsy programs in the world at Northeast Georgia Medical Center for unresectable tumors. He serves as the Committee on Cancer Liaison Physician, Program Director for the General Surgery Residency Program, and GI Research interest group lead at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. He holds national leadership roles including the American College of Surgeons, Americas Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association, and Society of Surgery for the Alimentary Tract.
