The holidays are supposed to be “that most wonderful time of the year.” 

  • But what do we do when those we love are no longer here? 
  • What happens when we lose our reason for celebrating? 
  • How do we cope when we are facing the holidays alone? 

Come join us as a prolific author and leading expert on grief and loss, Dr. Kenneth Doka, helps us find hope for the coming new year.

 

Wednesday, November 13, 2024 – 8:30 am to 3:00 pm
REGISTRATION DEADLINE:  Sunday, November 10th

This seminar will help those living with grief find inspiration and coping strategies for surviving and thriving the holiday season after a significant loss of a loved one and support professional caregivers through FREE 4.5 CEU hours of skill building to help their clients meet the goals above.

Bio: Dr. Kenneth J. Doka, PhD, mDiv, is Professor Emeritus at the Graduate School of The College of New Rochelle and Senior Consultant to the Hospice Foundation of America. A prolific author, Dr. Doka’s books include Grieving beyond Gender: Understanding the Ways Men and Woman MournCounseling Individuals with Life-Threatening IllnessDisenfranchised Grief: Recognizing Hidden Sorrow; and his most recent book, Grief is a Journey: Finding Your Path through Loss. In addition to these books, he has published over 100 articles and book chapters. A licensed mental health counselor, Dr. Doka is also editor of Omega: The Journal of Death and Dying and Journeys: A Newsletter to Help in Bereavement. He has served as a consultant to medical, nursing, funeral service and hospice organizations as well as businesses and educational and social service agencies. Dr. Doka is also an ordained Lutheran minister.
